Installing the TecO WBridge software to an ASUS WL500g/gx Router
1) Download a current distribution of the WBridge software from teco.edu
2) Set your router in flash mode: power off -> press reset button -> power on -> release the button. The power LED should now blink.
3) Upload the WBridge softwar distribution to your router. You can use either the "Firmware Restoration" utility provided by Asus or tftp. If you use tftp, make sure that tftp verifies the image after transfering it!
4) Reboot you router twice, so that the file system can be mounted. Please note that the reboot of a wl500g Premium can take about 1 or 2 minutes.
5) Check the WBridges IP-address with the list_router tool. Type in the IP-address of your WBridge into the address-bar of your browser. You should now see the OpenWRT default page. Click on any menu item. OpenWRT will ask you to type in a new password for the WBridge. You can type in any password you want. The default password for routers flashed at the TecO is "root5".
NOTE: If your router hangs up during the last reboot (Air-LED will not flicker), please flash your router with the original Asus firmware, load the webinterface, login (login data are printet at the backside of your router) and reset your router to the default settings. After that, repeat step 1-5.
