Installing the TecO WBridge software to an ASUS WL500g/gx Router
1) Download a current distribution of OpenWRT from openwrt.org:
openwrt-brcm-2.4-jffs2-4MB.trx
2) Set your router in faisafe mode: power off -> press reset button -> power on -> release the button. The power LED should now blink.
3) Upload the OpenWRT distribution to your router. You can use either the "Firmware Restoration" utility provided by Asus or tftp. If you use tftp, make sure that tftp verifies the image after transfering it!
4) Reboot you router twice, so that the file system can be mounted.
5) run install_wl500g.bat if you have an ASUS WL-500g or install_wl500g_Deluxe.bat if you have an ASUS WL-500gx, also known as ASUS WL-500g Deluxe. This script will copy all neccessary files to the router and install them. After installing all files, it will reboot the router to activate the USB port.
NOTE: If your router hangs up during the last reboot (Air-LED will not flicker), please flash your router with the original Asus firmware, load the webinterface, login (login data are printet at the backside of your router) and reset your router to the default settings. After that, repeat step 1-5.
