THE
PARTICLE COMPUTER DOCU
Don’t use not stabilized power supplies
Pay attention to polarity if customizing own cables for e.g. power
Don’t lay particles or other boards on conductive surfaces, the tracks can short circuit!
Don’t supply particles with more than 1 cell (0.8-1.3V), it has a step up converter, but no down-regulator.
Always use hot glue between a 2 pin Molex connector (male) and the cables. Otherwise the wires break easily insight the cable
Static discharge is crucial to all electronic parts, make sure your work environment and your are discharged before connecting or touching anything
When programming: keep in mind that an “erase” from a microprocessor programmer like GALEP erases all memory including the internal EEPROM.
When programming: remember to select the DIL package eventhough the real package of the PIC is QTFP. The program adapter is DIL design!
use our software and example program
Particles are based on RF, shielding, interference with over consumer electronic can affect the transmission and interrupt it.!
check local telecom license and restrictions for RF on 868 MHz, maybe used by others?
Never program in assembler unless you really know what you’re doing!! Bank-switches on ROM and RAM pages are very dangerous
When programming on the particle, remember that the RF stack is running and interrupting your program every 13ms!
